So the idea for your new single Money came about when you were unsigned and touring in a van. What’s made you want to release it now? I think it was more the fact that the idea came along when we were unsigned. We hadn’t wrote the song at all, it was just the hookline in the song that we used to sing when we turned up to play in front of like four people and made a joke of it. Only last year when we were recording the album we explored the idea and it turned into a pop, sing along anthem.
Do you ever think back to those days and realise how far you’ve come as a band? Yeah all the time. Starting as an unsigned band you have days where you think you’re never going to make it. That you’re never going to get spotted but you have to keep going until you get signed. We put covers on YouTube and the next thing we got a record deal and we’ve released 8 singles. For us that was the way that we did it and I think it’s more the organic route and we loved those days.

It must feel surreal at times, such as when you’re on tour with Robbie Williams in Australia… Absolutely! Robbie was an amazing tour. We got to tour the whole of Australia and New Zealand and it was amazing because he was such an incredible guy. He invited us on stage to sing with him for two songs – and just to learn from him and watch him every night was a dream come true.
Is there anything else that you just think, that was such a great opportunity? We played Wembley a couple of years ago when we released Broken Hearted with B.O.B and it was such a great atmosphere in front of 80,000 people.
