Reviewed: Pride

Pride film still
If I had to choose VanityHype‘s film of the year, it’d be Pride. This British corker is based on a true story set in the 1980s when the lesbian and gay community decided to help the Welsh miners. It being the 80s and AIDs prominent in the news, you can already tell that the task isn’t as easy as it sounds.

It’s so beautifully filmed, the acting is superb and well cast, it’s hilarious (everybody actually laughed out loud in the cinema) and the soundtrack is amazing. It made me cry, and I was so caught up in the film that I didn’t want it to end…. and that’s rare for me! I’m usually checking the time wondering what I’ll be up to after it finishes.

The script is witty and well thought out, the actors do the film justice – I just can’t praise it enough! I wanted to stand up and clap at the end.

It’s already ended its run pretty much in large cinemas, but there are a few still showing it this week. If you get the chance, go and see it! Let me know what you think…
