The Saturdays haven’t been on tour for 3 years! I know, we couldn’t believe it either. They’re back with a brand new single, a greatest hits album and a tour later this year. Mollie and Vanessa caught up with VanityHype to let us know what they’ve been up to….
So alongside the greatest hits there’s also some new tracks I hear!
V: Yeah, there’s about three new tracks on it too so there’s definitely new material there.
Did you feel it was important to get some of the new songs on then?
V: Yeah I think so because as much as everyone wants to hear everything right from the start, people also like the new direction we are going in and you know, ‘Not Giving Up’ seems to be going down really well. So yeah, also we couldn’t put an album out there without doing any work! So we wanted to get in the studio and get recording.
You don’t want it to look like, oh gosh she just loves herself!
Can we expect some more upbeat, dance tunes in there?
V: Oh of course!
M: Definitely! There will definitely be upbeat ones. We like ones for people’s night out and you know, if you’re getting ready for a night out, and it will be your typical upbeat, feel good tracks!
Have you ever been on a night out and heard your own songs?
M: Oh gosh, yes we have actually. We always have that issue of, should you get up and dance, or should you just sit there? You don’t want it to look like, oh gosh she just loves herself, but if you sit in the corner it’s like, oh gosh she’s so miserable! Why are you not dancing?
V: It can be really weird but I think you just have to embrace it.
M: I bust out the full on routine! (laughs).
