Get Ready For The Annual London Tattoo Convention!

It’s back again this month with three days of ink, entertainment and a whole load of awesomeness creating an even bigger event this year. Hosted by Tattoo Life Magazine, The London Tattoo Convention is celebrating its 8th year dazzling the UK with top tattoo artists from around the country and beyond, as well as featuring top female entertainers such as the popular and sexy Fuel Girls,  Lucky Hell the ‘sword swallowing painted lady’, The Nerdy Stripper, Elegy Ellem a top burlesque performer and Les Soeurs Tribales, a belly dance troupe with a twist! Sabina Kelley (check her out in issue 11 of Vanity magazine) will be signing copies of her 2013 calendar. Also there will be plenty of music, exhibitions and a wide variation of stalls.

Exhibitions include Vis Dearum, which highlights female tattoo artists from around the world, and will include images by eighteen leading international female painters and tattoo artists, led by Italian Viola Von Hell which include mysterious pagan divinities such as Aphrodite, Nike, Parvati, Hera, Minerva and Kali. Also the Amsterdam Tattoo Museum will be making its first trip to London to exhibit ancient tattoo machines, tools, stencils and the like! There will also be an 85 minute film titled the ‘Tattoo National Film’ documenting the days of Charlie Cartwright, Jack Rudy and Freddy Negrete who opened a tattoo Parlor in the heart of East LA’s Chicano community. There is plenty more to see and do whilst having a chance to learn something new within the tattooing world.

What is really exciting, is the fact Ami James (star of the TV shows Miami Ink and the current NY Ink) will be at the convention for the first time. He will be joining an array of over 300 talented tattoo artists who will be inking and drawing in public amongst the thirteen sterile halls that are dedicated to tattooing.

As usual there will be a tattoo contest for the visitors which includes ‘Best Of Day’, ‘Best Back Piece’, ‘Best Back Ornament’, ‘Best Colours’, ‘Best Black And Grey’ and ‘Best Of Show’.

It really doesn’t get any better than this, and if you’re a lover of ink, this is most certainly the place to be! The event takes place on Friday 28th September to the 29th and the 30th. Grab your tickets which are priced at £20 for the Friday, £30 for the Saturday and £25 for the Sunday. If you want to make a day of it, a 3 day ticket will cost you £55. Advanced tickets may be bought meaning you can enter at 11:30 each day, rather than 12pm, and under 14′s get in free with an adult.

The event takes place at the Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, Wapping, E1W 2SF.
